Pet Retirement

     Do you worry about how your pet will get along in its golden years?  Have you ever lost sleep wondering how Fido will carry on when you’re gone?  Well, Congress does.

     Rep. Earl Blumenauer  (D-OR) wants to take care of your pets when you die.  The Congressman recently introduced a bill that would enable pet owners to set up federal tax-deductible trusts for the pets they leave behind.  The trusts would provide annual payments for people to take care of their pets.   After the pet dies, any remaining money would go to charity.

     It seems the world of the internet has been growing without me!  I’m a little late jumping on the blogging bandwagon, but I suppose the old saying that “better late than never” rings true.  My reluctance to participate doesn’t mean that I’ve been ignorant of the blogosphere.  I am familiar with blogs – there are even a few that I follow regularly.  I just never took the time to sit down and properly introduce myself.  Well, here I am.
